Would you consider a surrogate ?

Wendy Jean asked:

My husband and I tried for five years to have a baby, unfortunately it never happened and I had to have a complete hysterectomy 3 yrs ago. I was wondering about having a surrogate mother. I know we would use my husband’s ***** and a donor egg, since I couldn’t save mine. Would you do this? Have you ever done this, know anybody who did? I am just looking for some thoughts on this subject. Thanks.
My husband doesn’t care if its his “loins” or not. We are also considering adoption, I just want to explore all options.

Personally, no, I would never consider it. I’m not a fan of the whole IVF, fertility treatment scenario. I don’t like to mess with Mother Nature. The only option I’d consider other than plain old natural conception is adoption.

    Eggdonation

If it was something we could afford, yes, I would do this. I think it is a personal choice and preference.

I am very sorry about your unfortunate situation. If your husband is adamant about this child being of his “loins” then yes, I would consider a surrogate. If not, there are plenty of babies out there that need to be adopted. Babies and young children that need to be cared for. :)

If I was single, then yes I would consider it.

Edit: I meant I would consider BEING a surrogate if I were single. I think I read your question wrong. Sorry.

I would consider it if I could afford it. I would definitely make sure I had an air tight contract with the surrogate to make sure you did not get taken advantage of in the end. You can also talk to adoption agencies about a mother who wants to let her child be adopted that is still pregnant. Usually you can go into a contract similar to a surrogate and you pay for everything, only difference is it would not be your husband’s *****. Just do your research and find out what would be the best path for you. Just remember to get an attorney to make sure your contract is air tight!!

i have actaully always thought about BEING a surrogate, even before i thought about kids of my own.

i dont think there is anything wrong with doing it, on either end.
